The palace is designed to reflect the glory of the family’s noble history with a particular feminine touch paying respects to the many Baronesses of Gomerino that made the palace their home including Giovanna, Beatrice, Gaetana, Teodora, Antonia and Domenica. In its later history the building was adapted to become a tenement block to become an important source of income for the Testaferrata Abela family in the early British period. The palace was recently taken over by Allelon Hospitality, Valletta’s leading luxury hotel operator and restored to its former glory.
